Jacqueline Ernst

Jaki Ernst is a native Californian who believes pigs can fly! Those who visit her busy studio and showroom soon fall under the spell of her 'can-do' attitude and whimsical sense of humor. Here is a woman who dances with dogs and trusts the maxim Leap! A Net Will Appear!

She has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Studies encompassed studio techniques, art history, interior design, and marketing at Universita Italiana Per Stranieri, Perugia, Italy, University of California at Santa Barbara, and California's Bauder College, Sacramento, Foothill Community College, Los Altos, and San Jose State University.

For over twenty years, she served as principal at Ernst Associates in Graphics, an advertising agency. Known for thinking outside the box, Ernst directed design and production of brochures, annual reports, and logotypes, as well as print, outdoor, and radio campaigns for many of Silicon Valley's leading electronics manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and wineries including Acuson, Advanced Micro Devices, Monsanto, Syntex, and Almaden Vineyards.

Since 1986, Ernst's energies have been devoted to Pig Wings & Promises, her Mountain View, California, atelier which showcases unique and limited edition illustrated books. She also writes and designs subscription-based monographs devoted to art history and the art of telling histories which are published under the WINGIN' IT imprint.

Pig Wings & Promises annually opens its doors to the public during Silicon Valley Open Studios (svos.org) held the first three weekends in May.
